Saw it opening day.
Here's my take on the flick:
-Not bad overall.
-Pretty accurate, if a bit far-fetched at times.
-Got pissed a few times at the ridiculously stupid actions of the main character.
-Fantastic visuals of the Desert Shield/ Storm terrain.
-Jamie Fox (sp?) character was my favorite, and reminded me of several high-speed NCOs I've met in the military.
-The main character is a SH*TBAG! He should have gotten the sh*t beat out of him, repeatedly.
-Calling it a recruting film is ridiculous. It's about as anti-Corps as a movie could be. Marines are switched-on, high speed, highly motivated, very confident, and very proud individuals for the most part. I find it unfortunate that it was chosen to portray the exception rather than the rule as this films main character.
-Again, the main character is a Piece of Sh*t.
-Jake Gylenhall (sp?) is a decent actor.
And please quit saying "tuned," and "in the face." It's getting stale, thanks.
