I think Farslayer was kidding. I hope so.

Vince is more responsible than I am. He wouldn't do that on purpose.

It was an accident. On second thought, she was probably more like 10 or 12. It was VERY dark and she accidentally got in the way. She was alright after the initial shock of getting hit went away and Vince feels very bad.

Benn, don't worry about it. Vince is actually a pretty cool guy and I don't know of anyone in our organization that would intentionally do anything like you are talking about. It was funny after-the-fact in a messed-up kinda way- once we knew that everyone was ok and no feelings or bodies were hurt.

I know nothing of Op Irene, line me up and shoot me later...
Did hitting a non-com take points away or anything?
just curious if they were there for show and a measure of realism, or if they had an actual role in the op.

Yes. The team gets nailed for about 50 points each time a civvie gets shot. They are the army's normal role-players. They do this stuff professionally. Some have weapons, some are just going about their business. We had to interact with them just like soldiers do when they are at Zussman. Each team's CO got assasinated once by pissed off civilians.

A group of ladies were nagging Col. Mcknight, so he just started to ignore them. One of them rolled a grenade at his feet.

Our CO, MSgt Mullen, was killed when one of them pulled up in a car, yelled "Hey MSgt!", then threw a grenade at him as he turned to look.

Let's get off the little girl topic now.

I gotta say Doc, you really pulled Charlie together for this one!  That was one heck of a fight, and I loved every minute of it!!  Congrats!  That game was one of the most exhausting ones I have ever played!

Special thanks go out to ALL the AZ boyz that made it, expecially Delta 0403!!!  Commanding four other squads that you only previously talked with briefly over emails is a lot different than a platoon of hard chargin', heart breakin' AZ B Co. boys!  Having some prior time with your troops is valuable beyond measure.  But if I had to do it again, I wouldn't change a thing!  The rest of the platoon still rocked!  (except for all the heat casualties!)

Mike - I had some great leadership behind me, and we had one hell of a challenge up against you guys.

For you guys talking smak about the 6 year old or 12 year old girl, what you don't know is these civilian volunteers are used to getting hit with simrounds by Seals and Rangers and Delta on a regular basis. Yes they all wear protective equipment - more so than most people wear at our local games. You can't know what the environment was like if you were not there - but the civilians were demanding and distracting (I was ready to shoot the mayor my damn self). This op is what is goig on every day in Iraq and Afganistan and these volunteers help our troops prepare for the kind of battlefield they are going to.

I know Vince would never do anything to intentionally hurt someone and he is in no way gloating about what happened. Probably better to not talk about what you don't know, IMHO.

If you did not go, you missed what is likely the BEST airsoft event in history, at least in the United States.

I still can't get it out of my head..... hell, it was so great I hope I never do....

Well I rolled my ankle bad late the second game, and so I did not get to play for the night game or the next day. Mark, woody, and sky left the doors to the car open at night when I fell asleep in it, and so I became mosquito BATE while they played!!!

When I did play the first day, I helped push Mark and Skylar into a building through a window and was left outside as Charlie BATE!!! This was because Skylar was lazy, and wanted me to DIE!!! Well I fought them off surrounded by myself till some help came!!!

Vince how did Dave break your gun???

Also when will there be some pics????

Yeah, it was a great time!

Juvenile Marksman, er . . . I mean. . . Vince, it's ok bro.

She'll live.

Pros of this OP:
-The site was extremely intricate, and the pyrotechnics were awesome.
-playing where other soldiers, sailors, airmen, and Marines train was a good time!
-I didn't get shot in the face.
-I tuned at least 35 motherf*ckers with a gat that wasn't even mine.

Cons:
-We lost.
-I only shot 2 people in the face.
-I didn't use my pistola.

Thanks to everyone that went, and to that nice lady at the gas station who was kind enough to consider me as a potential future son-in-law.  My hat goes off to you, ma'am!
