Yeah Woody sadly there are always fools running around that push their intensity on other people who are not as "passionate" about their work outs as they are.  Then when they perceive that you are in their way people start yelling and getting all silly.  Funny how quickly people forget it's "our" gym and not "My" gym!  Suckas,,

Good luck on your target. While we're on the topic, could anyone send me a PM or even post here about the Marines daily exercises.
I need to start getting fit again and don't think that a video or movie from $20-50 is worth it. This is mostly aimed at Greg, but if any USMC retirees or current can respond, thanks.
By the way, Didn't mean for this to be a thread jack :P

I'm not a Marine.

But to answer your question, just run your ass off, do pushups, pullups, situps, etc.

I just did a quick search and this link looks at first glance to be pretty decent: http://www.usmchq.com/usmcresources/bootcamp.htm

I would like to throw in my two cents:
First, to give you a little background on myself, I have "trained" and competed in cycling for the last 12 years and am now training for Ironman Arizona in April. I have extensive knowledge on working out for endurance type events and how to use proper nutrition. I have worked with trainers and coaches who work with pro athletes. I currently work for a nutrition company called Hammer Nutrition and their website is:
www.e-caps.com
I highly recommend their site for many reseasons, but mainly for the info. Whats nice about this company is the fact that they use only natural ingredients and they take the time to tell you exactly how to use the product and how it will affect you. Sorry for the plug, but I wouldn't be working for them if I didn't believe them.
Now, on the working out portion, I highly recommend purchasing a book by a guy named Mark Verstegen called Core Performance.
www.coreperformance.com
He is a local trainer who works with pro athletes. Essentially it shows you how to strengthen your core muscles because this is where it all begins. Like the hub of a bicycle wheel, if this area is not strong than the whole wheel comes out of true or being straight.
Many of you have good advice, but what it comes down to is education. There is no magic pill and there is no secret to getting in shape. It boils down to working hard but doing it smart. I strongly agree with those that stated that working out makes you feel better and most importantly will make you live longer.
If any of you would like to ask me any specifics you can pm me.

Gee Busta? Who you referring to as a FATASS?

Again, I poked some humor, and am attacked!

Fine.

Fact is, I would far rather be a studly FATASS, eating Pizza, and good food, than someone who abuses Roids, and has brain damage from it, who's testosteore level is so jacked up, that they are angry and pissed at the world, and explode over everything.

Here we go round again...........................

Hmm Just because someone isn't fat doesn't mean that they use steroids. And you do know that so called "Good food" Isn't "Good For you." You wonder why so many people in america are overweight? Its because too many people think that the only good food is the grease covered fattening kind. The thing that makes people healthy is a BALANCED diet. You know the food pyramid? How about all of those nutrition facts on the back of food packaging? If you follow those 2 things every day thats how you become healthy while eating "Good Food."

Hey Patty........I eat lots of healthy food. I eat a lot of fish, Catfish, Cod, Tuna, shrimp,, my favorite, mahi-mahi.
I eat roast beef, chicken (not fried), lots of vegtables, rice.
I can cook Vietnamese, Thia, Indian, Chinese foods. But I also eat pasta, pizza, and other junk type foods.
Now a lot of folks in here love to call me a fatass, fact is, I really do not eat a lot of food a day. I cannot eat breakfast, I usually do not eat lunch. I eat 1 plate of food at suppertime.
Its not what I eat, or even how much I eat. Taking steroids would do me no good at all.
Its purely a metablolizm issue.
Some folks have the metabolizm of skinny little rats.
Others like myslef, have that of-say an elephant.
Lets face facts, elephant outlive rats, and NEVER forget those who cross them.........right?

I agree that a balanced diet is good, but why diet?
I can absolutly gaurantee that ONE day, I will begin a rapid weight loss, so dramatic , and fast, and NO excersie will be involved!
And, the weight loss will be permanant...............Its called Death.

IE, Ya, I would love to weigh in at around 185 or so, but it aint gonna happen, not in this lifetime.
So I can either be miserable, eating crakers and cottage cheese and lettuce, or eat what I want, and not worry about it.

AHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA

I am sorry, I just find you funny.

And flash, I was talking about you. I feel bad for people who are overweight and can't help it, but people who choose to be fatasses, no, I am sorry I have ZERO sympathy...

Take the pizza box off your lap, get off the couch and get to the gym before your arteries become pudding.
