A New Airsoft Field, would you go?
« on: November 02, 2005, 09:38:21 AM »
My friend and I were looking into building an field dedicated to Airsoft close to the Phoenix area?  How many of you would be interested in paying to play at a local Airsoft field that is setup for MilSim?

Later,
John

I have to admit, it is nice having a field to play at where you don't have to worry about being harrassed by who knows who.  The $15 fee if definitely worth that piece of mind alone.   :)

I'll commit to going at least twice a month if there's players there and the games are honest.

I'd be willing to pay a 15 dollar fee.

I am happy to drive there anywhere within 30mi of the Phoenix City limits, give or take a few miles.

I think most players would drive up to a couple of hours to get to a good AO (considering we drive up north during the summer). Just make sure you know what you are getting yourselves into. Is this land that you guys already own? Do you have the insurance stuff figured out at all? Is this going to be a livelihood for you or are you doing this for fun with the fees mostly covering expenses?

If you can pull it off, then great! I'm sure you'll have a lot of supporters here.

Build it, and players will come.  It may start slow at first, but as long as you do things smart, players will come.

It would actually depend mainly on the layout and the amount of room available.
The larger the area, the more urban type area you have, the better it will be, but the higher the maintenance cost of such an area.
I would guess insurance would be the same as a paintball field.

I'd show up. Disntance isn't really a problem for me. I just set aside a little bit a month for airsoft gas money.

That would be extremely cool, to have a local field. But, what would it be like? How would it be set up? Keep us updated, every inch of the way!

I've mulled around the idea myself, the biggest problem would be the cost of the land involved.

You'd want to own not rent, since few landlords would let you do something so nutty as airsoft, heh.

My son and I have been tossing the idea around as well, but we are far from ready to do it, I do have lots of ideas if anyone is intrested, and willing to share them openly.
alot of the upkeep and setup is relatively simple actually at least in my opinion. :)  Simple structures built, one main issue to keep in mind perhaps is to make it so that there is a way to get in and out of the building with large equipment of some sort. IE a fork life, this way you can constantly change the Scenary this way it doesnt become bored and mundane.

  Just my two cents worth.
