!UPDATED! Operation Red Sleigh Down; 17 December 2005 @ 0800
« on: November 14, 2005, 06:06:47 AM »
SITREP:  Indonesia has been the victim of a large scale earthquake.  The results of been devastating.  The death toll stands at well over 500,000 dead.  The transporation, plumbing and electric infrastructure is down.  Without proper aid, more people are going to die in isolated regions from starvation, lack of water or disease.

The local governments have welcomed any and all assistance with open arms.  The local terrorists cells have not been so welcoming.  U.N. helicopters came under fire in the early morning hours of the 17th of December.  These helicopters were loaded with blankets, food and medicine for nearby towns.  The helicopters also carried some donated toys for surviving children.

U.N. command has tasked the U.S. Marines detachment with securing the cargo for pickup and proper distribution.  Sat tracking shows local insurgents moving towards the crash site.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This will be a multi-part scenario to be played out at the Sudden Impact field (since he has two helicopters there).  We are hoping to use this as a Toys for Tots drive in lieu of the normal admission fee.

I'd like to extend the invitation to our Phoenix people.  The more we have the better, especially for a Toy's for Tots drive.  And since the SI field is on the north side of Tucson, it's at least closer for you guys.  :)

The date for the Op is 17 December 2005.  Meet time is 830am, and we will probably use at least the first 30 minutes doing registration.  If you have any questions, please let me know.   :)

  Uniform's will be as follows;

U.S. forces:  Tan or other light colors.
Rebels:  Jungle or other dark colors.  Rebels can also wear civillian clothes.

  The official website is http://rsd.tucsoncoalition.com

There is a link to the forum on the website as well as intel and rosters.

Sounds good, Reav, but you don't have a lot of choices for weekends before Christmas. We'll get a Phoenix contingent together so we can part of the Toys for Tots drive.

Sounds decent. This could be worth the trip to Tucson again.

Is this game open to "newbies"? Me and a couple of friends might might be interested in coming. We will all have AEG's and wear camo. We don't have all the sweet gadgets and military gear but have good tatics and will work as a team.

17th...please. I want to go, and I have a final on the 10th. (yeah, I know a Saturday...)

Just kidding, don't wait up for me, but I'd be there if it was on the 17th...and I might bring a few people...

And for the younger set, I'll probably be going too. My Liberty isn't as nice as an X5 or a 325is, but it is pretty cool.

Is it safe to assume that normal TAC rules Will be in place? If so then sign me up for green. My brother wont be able to attend because he is leaving for Marine basic on the 12th.

Very solid storyline.

If I can get the time off, I'll be there with bells on.
