Problems with my GR-16.
« on: December 02, 2005, 03:49:34 PM »
Hey guys. I first tried to fire my used GR-16 two weeks ago, but the BB's werent being fed into the gun. It was just dry firing. And after about ten shots of trying to get it to work, it stopped making the normal cycling sound, and started to make a very loud grinding noise. It sounds like some gears arent meshing properly or something. If anyone knows what is wrong, please help me.

Thanks.

Pull out the motor and check to make sure the Pinion gear is not stripped out.  G&G motors are the worst for stripped pinion gears.  If it is, try adjusting the motor plate screw on the bottom higher and see if it fixes the grinding.

For the feeding, try pushing up on the mag and see if it feeds, if no, try a different mag.  If it does, your mag catch may be worn, or needs to be replaced.(also putting some tape on the backside can help with it)

I read in uncompanys news, that it seems as if G&G are recalling all of their boxes from the gr16. This is the biggest recall in the airsoft market that ive see, and you might luck out if you can just send it in for a  new one. But Im nnot sure where you got it from and if they will actually do it for you.

Sounds like a Tappet Plate issue.

See if you can send it back, and buy a NON-G&G AEG!

The thing is, I got it used, and the previous owner painted it. So I doubt they will take it back. After I get it fixed, I plan on selling it.
