So, my googlefu is weak as hell. Can anyone find a packaged deal on SSP's and boom mic? I've looked for  20 minutes or so.

Although I'm taking a wild guess that it depends on my radio. So, it's no use looking till' I have a radio in the first place.

Worthless post? Yep.

There are probably more, but basically you've got two options -

TCI Liberator IIs -

http://www.merchantmanager.com/tactical ... ?pageno=59

Something from TEA -

http://www.swatheadsets.com/submerssible/MICH/mich.html

---

TEA, in my opinion, is far more legit.

This is going to be expensive.

TEA, as mentioned above.  I'd not call them a "retailer" per se, but they'll sell you one.

Like Matt said, this high-end commo shit is pricey.  Being a legit member, though, I'm sure that's not an issue, just giving you a heads-up.

Yeah I saw a price tag  550-750, I may hold off
What I was mainly looking for was smoothing upgradeable, I can buy the headset first then the boom mic setup and connector later

Then send it in to have it wired.

It all depends on what you want to use it for.

I just recently purchased an ICOM F4S and a Pryme SPM1100 which I will be running into my Sordins as my main comms. I think that should cover all bases nicely. I like speaker mics better.

So audio will be through the Sordins only, and you will use the spkr mic as the mic?

That's cool.

Yeah, I already have that set up Vince, I want all my COMMS run through my Sordins, I don't like the Pryme SPM1100 because it doesnt have a volume control on the mic. I like to mount my radio on my back so adjusting the volume is hard to do :?

Yeah, C, I will be using the Sordins for audio only because I want the stealthiness and fidelity of like, a headset...but, I want the 100% situational awareness that's only obtainable in a headset if you use Sordins. That and it's very MF. Dave, I run my radio so it's accessible to me at all times, so, I can use the volume knob on the radio. Also, using the Sordins means that I can easily switch back over to the speaker mic in case I'm with people with not as good comms who need to hear what I'm hearing.

That sounds like a good setup, Vince.

I used to use my speaker mic with my peltors, but would either have to get discovered or miss a transmission when I came near the enemy.

Wiring it into the headset solves that prob.

What kid of connecting wire did you need to connect the headset to the speaker mic?

3.5mm male to 3.5mm right-angle male (into Sordins to keep a low profile)
