This is me...then
« on: December 14, 2005, 06:35:16 PM »
So, yeah, Nate and I were talkin' bout whatever and he said it would be a good idea to perhaps, make a thread like, befores and afters. I think I have the most rapid, most dramatic change.

Me at Operation : Dark Harvest, Memorial Day Weekend '05.

Me at Opperation : Daggerfall, November '05, in the best picture of me, ever taken in airsoft. Thanks Rod!

Let's see you guys.

Man, I was (read : still am) a tool.

This thread is absolutely fanfuckingtastic!

BT, in my first summer playing airsoft.  I sold an LBT Chest rig to buy that BLACKHAWK vest.  I used it once at returned it.  Even then, I kept my goddamn finger off the trigger.  Check the Skateboard kneepads and HiTec MAGNUMs.  What a cherry!

OP:RO, my first National OP.  I had a custom RAV-kinda vest that Mark made me.  I wore it on the first day and sweat my ass off.  Day2 I donned an LBV88 and SOE 3Day pack.

Badger Springs, shortly after OP:RO.  ChiComs are cool.  Same SOE pack as above.

Pre-OP:LC3 outing.  Yeah, that's a SPEAR BALCS.  I wore it on the FIRST day of the OP, at least.  6004, Hellcat Mk2, THE pack.

Florence AO.  My SPR was nice.  This was right after OP:LC4.

After my two-week Training at Yuma Proving Grounds, I decided I needed a real M4.  Here it is.  I sold it to a nice Fed that lives out of state.  I still have the RAID pack.

The guys and I at OP:Irene.  DBT FAPC, IIIa armor cummerbund.  Real armor is heavy.

I don't really have any clear pics of me since then.  I'll take some and post them, but you can see my transformation.  I've always been a gearwhore, just a different kind.  When I started, it was all about "looking the part" with uniforms ripped straight from pics of SF guys on militaryphotos.net.  Lately, I've just been using what works, but still try to maintain a bit of authenticity with my guns and kit.

Ok, well I started out with an M9 and there are no pictures to my knowledge of this era.

Then I got an Mp5, still no gear other than a pair of black pants and a woodland shirt.  But atlas the picture that used to be public is now MF Classified and unretrievable.  So since I dont have one of those early picts, Ill post my very first avatar for here.  I know its the best avatar ever!

Then I moved to Get an M4 for LC3 and upgraded to an USGI LBV. I know it was astonishing, no more pockets for magazines! I was pretty content with this set up for several years.

Before Lc3

After Lc3

After Lc4

Then I got a nice Coyote Brown LBV, oh so much better than that USGI crap, and a Mich for Op Irene.

That LBV was not USGI.

You are moving in the right direction though.  Knockoff MOLLE gear is better than a knockoff LBV88. :P

Sadly, all my old gear.. I gave away. It was just some OD dropleg gear from JT with black belt and holster. I wore ab LBV every now and then. I never needed more than 4 mags. I never lived past the second one. No pictures, though. I was sort of like.. extremely low speed.

And, here is when I actually talked to cool people. I had a BHI rig, with camelback. Lets not forget, every pouch I had was also BHI.

Some prgress..

Some more..

(Pants way too big in every way, on me)

And it's not airsoft, but here's the most current setup!

Nice gangster shooting Nate. Ill tell you, I had the bitch of a time, as you did, keeping my rig from saggin' like 80 year old tits at Lc4. I can see the tiredness in that pic, and J thinkin..."damn..wheres the beer?"
