Classic Army "M15A4 CQB" aka CQB R
« on: December 14, 2005, 08:09:28 PM »
Yeah, I got a "Classic Army M15A4 CQB."

I made it into a Mk18 CQB R by adding an Aimpoint Comp M2 replica with a Knight's High Ring, First Factory/ANGS Limited Edition AN/PEQ2A replica (THE best and most realistic replica on the market, PERIOD!), and a Surefire Classic 6 volt with Shock Isolated bezel and 1" ring.

It already came with a M4 RAS, Knight flash hider, Cut down Rear A2 sight, Crane stock, and 10.5" heavy barrel. It's even got a faux gas tube that's visible through the upper vent holes on the RAS!

The CA rail covers blow ass, and don't even stay on, so I replaced them with some real Knight's covers I had laying around from when I had a Knight's RAS.

The hider is a bit larger in outer diameter than the G&P unit that came with the Knight's Suppressor, so I can't swoop Anthony's Knight's can just yet.

It's solid as a rock, the RIS is even more solid than the real RAS I had (and it's not fucking purple!), and the ROF is insane with the 2400 mAh 9.4v (30A Discharge Rate!) I got from Precision Airsoft that is specially made for the CA Crane stocks.

Internally, it's completely stock. I'm going to add a tightbore and spring to get it to 400fps, but not for awhile. This little thing is the nicest stock AEG I've ever paid less than 1100 dollars for.

Pics soon.  Some of you have already seen it.

Any questions?

I have one...

...can you put pics in "Weapons Pics".

Actually I do. Does the shorty style hinder you at all. I know that tall like me and have long arms. Stupid yes, but it's something I have to think about when buying a gun.

I don't hold my gun by the barrel, so it's not an issue for me.

In all seriousness, the only thing shorter than an M4A1 is the barrel.

I'm a "Gangster Grip" guy, and have used on on my M4's (both real and airsoft) since I saw the idea from a badass guy from the Ranger Batt.  With this shorter gun, and the fact more weight is in the rear b/c of the Crane Stock AEG battery, I just installed my Knight's VFG and moved it to the center of the RAS and put my light in a std 1" ring.

The CG of this gun is right about where the pistol grip is, and since there's no recoil, this setup works great for me.

That gun is on the top of my "next gun" list. Got to "fondle " one at the US Airsoft expo and wanted one ever since.

Ive been reading the reviews lately, and thinking about picking one up after hearing alot of good feedback.  I need a backup gun...my last CA was a horror show though so im still kinda hesitant to get another one.

Looked like a decent piece when i saw it on saturday.

I recently purchased a G&P CQBR. I was hesitant to go with CA because I have heard some bad things about them. Add to that, I like the Marine style metal body that comes standard, and the free floating RAS, and the Aimpoint that comes standard as well. All around, the G&P was a better deal.

Was the G&P already upgraded though? No..
Trust me
The CA > G&P.

To tell you the truth, I was not looking for an upgraded gun in the first place. The CQBR is probably going to be purely a back up weapon, besides, it is shooting around 340-350 anyway, which is just fine with me.

I've heard that the stock is not collapsible when the battery is in it.

Is this true?

Not with mine, because I installed the battery correctly.

Right, I got the 9.6V version, but on the 10.8V, you cannot collapse it fully.
