As you can see, I put the Gangster Grip back on.  It's just too fantastic to sit in a drawer.

I wanted to make a Mk18 like this:

and the CA gun was the best place to start.  I have a different grip than that SEAL, but other than that it's the same reciever and front end.

I may just be retarded, but can anyone tell me what the large box is on top of your IRS? I see alot of guns with them but i have no knowledge of what they are... tried a search... but "box thing on top of rifle" doesn't really yield results.

Its on top of his RIS and its a PEQ box. Its basically a laser targeting system.  Heres what one looks like up close.  For airsoft they are fake and are a good place to hide your battery.

It's an AN/PEQ2A replica.  The real one is an infrared laser and illuminator.  There isn't a gun in US inventory that doesn't have one, so naturally I'd need one for my replica gun.

Replica AN/PEQ boxes are mostly used to hold AEG batteries.

My AEG battery is in the Crane Stock, so the AN/PEQ is just for looks on this gun.

In the Army, typically the only people that have AN/PEQ2s are squad leaders, and fireteam leaders(obviously platoon leaders and such). The rest of us regular grunts get the just the IR Laser(the AN/PAQ4C). Maybe one day I'll be able to nab on of these for airsoft(real one :) ). I've had the chance to use the ANPAQ4C, its pretty neat.

No.  Have you even met Dennis?

Yes.  It's a vidcap from a CBS special about a SEAL team in Afghanistan.

OKay you know whats REALLY fuckin wierd...That could be dennis..
Look at the glasses...Wiley Romer II's...IN both pics, the best way to tell in the blurry one is the shape, And they aren't oakley's..And on the right lens you can see the Wiley Laser Etching(on 2005 Romer II models)......

When I saw Christian's picture, that picture of Dennis was the first thing to enter my mind.

Nice Gat by the way Christian.  What color is the lighter color?  It looks almost like a greyish white.

Those aren't Romer IIs.  They look more like Arnettes or something, but either way, lets not go down the road of MilitaryPhotos.net here.

Ryan, the colors used are Krylon camo Sand Dune and Brown.  I used my phone to take those pics, and I have the color settings adjusted for pics of people, so objects appear a bit less colorful.
