New field found!
« on: December 18, 2005, 03:10:00 PM »
As most of you know our Jomax feild is getting torn down in order to put a mall. One day my freind and I were exploring the area around our school (Zuni Hills) when we found a cement bunker, blown up cars, sheet metal forts, and much much more we then played at the feild and found out it was indeed excellent for d-day scenerios and such (does point- du- hoc ring a bell) as a matter a fact my freind and i climbed it in full gear and found that it was favorable. the cliff is about 100 ft but its not a strait up kind of deal. and by the way it looked just like the outskirts of mogudishu! there are huge foxholes and fighting holes MG bunkers. This feild was also a paintball feild at one time... but for some reason no one plays there anymore.

please post with comments and ideas [smilie=armata_pdt_40.gif]

Umm, if its in the city limits, we generally don't play there. My guess is that it is abandoned because someone got in trouble for playing there at one point or another. Also, any area anywhere near a school is generally off limits, this is one of the reasons why the wash is now defunct.

Call the authorities and see if it's legal there.  Make sure you talk to a competent officer though.

Call the city attorney if its in a city limit. Police officers interpret the law (very often incorrectly, but not always), but you can not legally rely on their opinion.  On the other hand, if a city or county attorney gives you the OK for something, and you rely on that, they can not later prosecute you for it.  NOT the same for cops or private attorneys.  Lesson - don't trust the cops...

Basically, what Doc said.  I can pretty much tell you that if it is in city limits, you shouldn't play there.  Almost all cities have laws against shooting any kind of firearm... including BB guns.  And in the state of Arizona, airsoft guns are considered to be firearms.  I know a freind who lost his airsoft guns because of a restrianing order.  If you can get some kind of OK, make sure it is in formal writting and you have it with you when you play.  :)
