MP5 Magazine Feed Problems
« on: February 02, 2006, 07:43:52 PM »
I just revieved my AE/ICS MP5 A4 3.5 used and opened it today.  I loaded the mags, charged the battery and shot.  The gun itself fires well without any problems but more often than not, it will dry fire (shoot without a bb).  I have a 250 round ICS mag with the wheel on the bottom and 2 G&P 100rd mags.  I load them in and the first few will usually shoot, then nothing.  I think it is a problem with the springs in the magazines.  This is because When I turn the gun upside down and fire it works flawlessly.  Did I possibly put too many bbs in the mags, or am I missing something else?

Thats just what happens with hi-cap magazines. It tends to dry fire alot and i have learned to hate Hi-cap mags...

I know that the Mid-caps have been known to have feeding problems on the M4.  Could be the same problem with the MP5 mags.  Those that had the problem had to put alot of silicon in the mags to prevent the spring from getting stuck.  That may help and remeber, your bbs will not shoot properly for some time untill the excess silicon leaves the mag.

The hi-caps, yeah I have misfeeds on the two that I own and that is one of the reasons I hate hi-caps.   Standards all the way!  :)
