Recommendations for "The most silent gun".
« on: March 18, 2006, 08:08:05 PM »
I'm looking to get the quietest gun I can find.

Be it AEG or gas, rifle or pistol. (An AEG rifle would be the best)

Finding that my current M4's are just WAY too noisy for me. (I'm also assuming there's not much way to make a CA M4 much quieter as far as the gearbox goes)

Thanks.

Wierd. My CA M15A4 is one of the most silent guns on the field these days. You have any upgrades in yours?

Mine has:

Silent Heads
Systema Super Hi-Speed gears
Systema Super Hi-Speed motor
Guarder Titanium teeth piston

Everything else is bone-stock. I also run a Gonzo Hi-output 9.6V 3800mAh nunchuck battery.

hrrm, no upgrades at all on mine. Tho I just guessed that a stock AEG could never be made whisper-quiet.

If you just hang on for a little longer, I'm going to be putting dynamat in mine in an effort to get a 5ft soundprint going, after which I'll post how/how good.

Farslayer, that's actually not a bad idea, tho I think a blowgun might be better.

If you want a truly quiet gun pick up a TM AEP and throw a silencer on the end. Obviously the silencer does not have the effect of a real can but it does mute the sound somewhat. I have an AEP with a handful of different silencers and it is by far the quietest gun I own. The range is not quite as good as an AEG but its compact, can hold plenty of rounds and is quite dependable. You can then use your AEG for the majority of your firefights as the need for a “quietâ€￾ gun is limited.

Warlock out of curiosity what type of Dynamat are you going to use? I wouldn’t recommend using it unless you modify it somewhat.

My stock tm m14 is super quiet  the gearbox is very quiet  I imagine if you slap on a silencer on it it would be very quiet.

That's the DynaMat kit I am planning on using. I'm quite familiar with the stuff (I build my own computers, I use DynaMat fairly extensively).

EDIT: The second Kit, the 40.00 dollar one.

Yo Las...weren't your Ruger Mk1s(or whatever) not quiet enough? Make some modifications to the like 50 you have, and make them highly accurate, sniping machines.

Those are actually still on the "disfunctional" list at the moment sadly. :S

Lasavian, That Dragunov I bought just makes a soft "sprooiing" and gets it done. 500fps.
