Dont see how it could be realy true, based on how the eye socket is built, but who am I.

I don't know how possible it is, but there are two fissures in the back of the Eye socket, they house nerves that go to the eye.  I guess it might be possible, but probably not.

Where would we be without high school anatomy & physiology classes?

Oh my God, that is the worst thing I have ever heard of. I never look down the barrel if I can help it, this story will just reinforce that habit.

I doubt it's true, but it still makes my eyes hurt like hell.

I'm sure Medic1 knows the story in more detail.  Death by penetration of eye?  Possible, but, I don't know about it being done with a plastic BB going over 400fps.

I mainly thought it would be a good topic aiming towards safety.  I wouldnn't look down the barrel of a gun unless it was disassembled, out of the gun.  And airsoft guns are NOT toys.  They should be handled as if it were a real one.

This is a pic of Andy Hinds (SNAP, formerly of SWAIRTAC: TUCSON) after he was shot in the shoulder by an upgraded APS2-SV during a skirmish.  This particular sniper (ahem...Farslayer...*cough* 8) ) was approximately 51 feet to his six and using precise BB placement, brought him down....

You can see Marlin (Joker, SWAIRTAC: TUCSON) playing wounded at his feet.

EDIT: a bunch of type-o's

I might be possible, just because of his eye bleeding.  Internal bleeding is very damaging to the human body.  Depending on what got damaged and how he reacted after the shot, he could have helped cause the injury that damaged his brain or started whatever killed him.  Humans only need a little bit of swelling in our skulls before the brain suffers damage.  If he was bleeding inside his brain I doesn't take long to cook out an important part of you white/Grey matter.  Maybe he hit his head as he fell from the shock of being shot.  Although the story still seems a little fishy.  Some other people have had traumatic eye injuries and lived. Yahoo news recently had a story of a soldier who had his right severely damaged by a grenade.  He lived, with one less eye and a lot of memory loss.  Maybe we as the airsoft community should just take this story as a fable to teach others coming into firearms the saftey required.

What Ben is failing to mention, is that I was on his team at the time and made the comment "ya like you could hit me from here" on the radio, right after shooting me, Ben could be heard yelling "YA AND WHO'S MY BITCH NOW".

Marlon got hurt when he was taking a leak on a cactus and "somebody" gave him a push from behind, I won't say where Marlon got the cactus needles, but now he pee's from two holes

At least he followed the fifty foot rule for snipers. Although it looks like he may need to extend his engagement distance minimum to more than fifty feet.  :!:

You're telling me!  When you turn around and see this (see attached) can you REALLY see the sniper.  If it wasn't for the glare on the scope you wouldn't know he was there.

Being the friend that Ben is, he told me that the first shot from a sniper is a warning to friends, the next is in the "coin purse".

Lesson Learned: Don't talk sh*t about snipers, they have the ability to cause you a world of pain.  I remember this list of names that Ben always carried with him.....

Most people on the list have been "retired" or were part of the now defunked SATAC....although some are still around.  Ones that stand out for me personally were Taz (ASOC circa 2002) and MadSarge (long range butt shot from the river at 4-peaks.

Don't think so Dave...but I remember the time you shot my thumb off at Missle Tanks the first time.  We were mostly on the same team and I had great respect for you...unlike Andy.
