Ok ok, I'll make a better suggestion.  I took an adjustable sling that was slightly small, kinda like a gym bag, as long as it has square ends.  And so you just loop duct tape through one end of the sling and attach that to the beginning of the stock (use a few layers for durability), you just can't put your stock on the first setting.  Then loop the free end of the sling through your vest or through a D-ring on the shoulder (only if it has one) of through a MOLLE loop, it'll be a tight fit, and duct tape it over the attached end.  It worked out good for me for a while, just needs a little care and repair after a while.

I dont know where you come from, but here duct tape does not belong on most things. Especially a sling

And even then, it's 100mph tape!

There's different slings for different guns. I liked Bens alot. It was the very first thing I noticed about his gear, when I wasn't into his gear. I don't know what sling it was, but I know I can make one like that in 5 seconds. It's simple, just a loop and you put it around the stock and let gravity and the guns weight do its thing. Heck, if I remember.. it was just a circular piece of webing on a D-ring. That's one hell of a 1pt sling. No noise, and easy to take off.

I ran a 1pt sling at LCIV, and it wasn't too bad.
