CA G36/G36K owners
« on: March 31, 2006, 02:49:19 PM »
I am finally going to replace my AEG and have pretty much decided to go with the CA G36K (although the AK74 and the soon to be available Steyr AUG were close behind). That said I have some questions for anyone with experience with these guns.

1) Which magazines do you use? Have you used any magazines from particular companies that just didn't work?

2) Are these guns al black? In some pictures the furniture looks grey.

3) Any specific upgrade reccomendations besided the M120 spring and the silent piston/piston head?

Anything else I should know going into this gun?

1. I have only used marui and they work.

2. Its black or charcoal color

3. Dont forget bushings or radials, I guess a spring guid rod with barrings.

Dont realy need anything. If you want a bigger battery I think you should use a large forgrip.

1) i only have the hi-cap it came with but am buying a drum soon, i've  used some mags that didn't fit really well, the Marui ones work fine with it, but some other cheaper magazines from other companies might won't fit too well

2)they are all black and made of glass fiber

3)not really it works pretty well stock

i have a CA G36 (soon to be an  MG36) anywho, its a good realiable gun solid, and not easy to break, buy a stick battery too, it fits way better than a small battery.  the only thing i don't like about it is trying to get a small battery into the gun its a little bit of work!

I have had my CA36C for about a year and has been very reliable and I love it.  It is all black or charcoal so dark that it doesn't make much of a difference.  If you are left-handed then the body sling mount is a bit cumbersome, but if your getting the K model then you can use the sling hole on the stock if you don't plan on folding it down.

I have the Hi-cap that came with the gun and a STAR Hi-cap, the STAR Hi-cap is better than the one that came with the gun.  The one that came with the gun would jam on occasion bad enough that light jarring would not cure.  I had to fix it by removing all BB's and reloading.  This problem was fixed by taking out the internals of the mag and taping the channels that the BB's feed through together.  It seemed that on occasion the BB's would wedge together and spread the 2 pieces of the feeding channel apart.  I have never had that problem with the STAR Hi-Cap.  Credit goes to Jeremiah at JT Phoenix for that fix.

Also one last minor problem, sometimes when using semi-auto it will just stop firing, what the cause is I do not know, but I just switch to full-auto, shoot and the problem is gone.

I have only ever owned CA AEG's so I cannae compare then to other brands.

And thats all I have to say 'bout that.

Be Well,
Charlie

Yeah, high capacity magazines suck because you have to wind them every 10 shots, at least with mine. Just get a bunch of low-caps and get a mock laser unit to hold a giant battery and you're ready.

I've got the Kilo version. It has an MP5 sight-channel mount on top of the carry handle with a 45mm red dot mounted onto that, the 3x scope of course, three rails on the handguard with laser w/pressure switch, light, and OD ergo grip. I had all of the following installed: M120 Systema spring, CA bore-up kit, Madbull tightbore barrel. They told me it shoots 410fps, I'm kind of skeptical with it though (it must be the battery I am using).

Don't paint it just one color. Here is a couple threads that have covered this. Not a CA36 but it's the same pricipal all around.

Holy height-over-bore, BatMan!  Aside from the optic mounting, this pic made me consider a G36 when I first saw it.

Then I remembered how fucking gay the magazines are.

Gay? The magazines like other G36 magazines?

What is it you don't like about them?

They are too big and they have those dang clips on the sides that makes it hard to get a good fit in normal mag pouches.

My complant is going from an M4 to my g36c. The mags are so damn big they dont fit in my m4 gear. And I havent had a chance to search for let alone order compatible ones.

I know there are pouches around for G3/M14 magazines, I am guessing I will need to shop those, or maybe ones meant for AK OR get one of our fine in house do-it-yourself gear makers to whip something up for me.

It's not that they don't fit, it's that the teeth snag and just it's generally crappy.
