TM AK47
« on: April 07, 2006, 10:29:45 AM »
Hell yeah.  I just got my AK in today, earlier than i expected!  I wanted to test fire a few rounds.  So, i put the AK battery i use in my other AK.  However, the gun won't shoot.  It sounds like it's not getting enough juice to he motor.  It "whrrrrr"s as if the motor is struggling to pull the piston back.

You need a better battery, a 8.4 will run it fine stock, but it has to have a decent discharge rate

What kind of battery are you using in it right now?

EDIT, you solved your problem. Good job  :)

Ok...

Now, i'm thinking of putting a M120 spring in the AK, as well as a Prometheus 6.03mm Accurate barrel.

Might want to invest in a 9.6V battery in that case, wouldn't want your rate of fire to take a dump on us  ;)

AKs can't take 9.6 volt batteries without severe modification(if it can be done at all).

Well I hear that JT is going to start making batteries for airsoft guns, would it be reasonable to assume that they could custom make a 9.6V battery for an AK series AEG?

get a high-discharge Li-Ion or Li-Poly battery :D haha, 3 series 11.1v (nom) pack, just be sure it can take the amperage your gun draws during full auto...

Yeah, i thought about that, too.  I'm sure someone knows how to do woodwork, maybe a friend can fabricate one?  Or just try it.  Start out with a block of wood, and a saw and a file.... go at it.  I'd give it a try  8)
