could also try some other battery types, I know great planes makes a 2000mah 8 cell pack with 2/3 sub C cells, they're laid side-by-side in the pack, but a bit of soldering wouldn't be hard, and it could be setup 'shotgun' style (two parallel rows) pretty easily and would probably fit...  They're only like $20 too, check your local hobby shops, I think they're labelled e-flight packs, I know my friend here can order them thru the shop (he works at a local hobby shop).

So, do i really need the 9.6v?  What would happen to the 8.4v 1300maH i'm using now?  it wouldn't last that long?  ROF decrease?

Not too familiar with airsoft use batteries. 8)

the 2/3 sub C cells are 1/3 shorter than typical subC cells, which would make a 9.6v pack shorter than a normal subC 9.6v pack.  In fact, it would be only marginally longer than a 6 cell, and as long or shorter than a 7 cell, if configured correctly.

well if you upgraded it to the 120 spring it'll suck that battery dry fast. maybe a combination of a set of torque up gears and a 10.8v small footprint battery may work better..

Well, if an 8.4v 3000maH battery works, then i'll stick with that...

Shaun, how long does the battery last?  I conserve as much ammo as i can, so as long as it shoots at least 2000+ rnds before it dies, then i'll be aiight.  The ROF, i'm not too worried about.  It'll just eat up my ammo quicker.  But it should still be decent, and consistant, as far as i'm concerned.

Using just my AK in a game, i may only go through 4-6 mags worth of ammo  (~500rnds).

Kool, thanks.  Ill just run the 1300maH for now, and get a 3000maH later.  That should be ok for my use.

I also ordered a KM 6.04mm barrel for the AK.

I just recieved my 3300maH battery today.  Charged it up and put it in the stock.  But... the battery is just slightly longer than the stock battery.  I can't fit the stock plate.  So, is there any mods i can do to fit it?

This is the battery you want to get, it'll fit into the AK stock just fine.

oh yea, i probably should have told you. i had to knock out 2 little plastic protrusions near the back of the stock to fit certain batteries. a hammer and chisel/flathead screwdriver will do just fine. or you could just get a normal 9.6v battery and rearrange the cells and rewrap it.

Ok, cool.  Thanks Shaun.  I was gonna ask if there was something of that manner that i could do to allow the battery to fit.

And, i would rather not buy another battery.  I JUST got this one.  And if it can fit by slight modification, then i'll take that route.
