Pistol games anyone?
« on: April 11, 2006, 08:24:49 PM »
Game Type: Pistol/Shotgun only. Single elimination

When: May/June/July?

Where: Florence AO

What time: Meet at McDonolds in Florence at 0550. Depart for AO at 0600. Start games by 0630.

I thought about planning some pistol/shotgun only games out at the Florence AO. This gives most the majority of people who never use their pistols or shotguns to get some focused trigger time only on that weapon, and pistol games are suprisingly fun. It's a great place to play and is perfect for that type of combat. I know we haven't been out there in a while so I was wondering if anyone was interested before actually setting up dates.

The games would probably be in may/june and maybe july. They would be fairly early in the morning, starting by 630 before it gets too hot. Then we can be out of there and home for lunch. The actual gameplay would comprise mostly of single shot elimination because the AO is small enough to just walk back to the cars after every game (and I don't think anyone likes to carry that many pistol mags on their belt...). Fast paced action.

For new guys who have never done this type of game. It's really quite enjoyable, and is also a great first-timer game for newcomers who are checking airsoft out.

I'm also doing this as an invitation for the Tuscon players to play with the pheonix players. I know that they often have trouble coming up to play in the pheonix area, and it can be a pain to go all the way to Four Peaks or Sycamore Creek. This is kind of a half-way point for you guys.

For those who haven't seen it, here's the AO:

Yeah that looks cool. Would you consider a Mauruzen MP5K as a pitol if I only fire Semi auto?

This same question was asked during the times when Andy Hindes would put these games on. What FPS is it shooting? Normally it would be a limit of nothing over 300fps. If someone had a gun shooting hot (hot meaning 300+) it would be considered a sniper and would have a minimum engagement of 75-100 feet. One sniper per team. But this would be Hoff's decision since it's hi game.

We're gonna try and stick around 300 fps this time, most pistols are shooting around there.

And an MP5K on only semi would be allowed, BTW.

No sniper rifles. Single BB shotguns are fine. Just stick to the 300fps. There will be slight leway there. If you're shooting 305, it's no big deal. Just please try and be as close to 300 as possible as a courtesy to the people you're playing with.

Let it be known though that these games will be very close quarters at times. Sometimes 5-10 feet. When we get out there i'll discuss rules like, "try and get them to surrender if they're that close, etc etc."

I'm modelling very close to what Andy did a year ago, since that was such a hit.

single bb shotguns? so no tm m3 or spas? that kind of limits your to what kind of shotgun you can use.

This may not be my game, but don't bring any CO2 pistols. Last time I played, I got hit in the hand from oh...10 feet away with a CO2 pistol, and it put a rather large hole(yes, hole. Had I not been wearing gloves, it would have embedded in my skin, I can almost garauntee it) in my hand. It bled pretty good too.

Oh, I'm down.
