Wow. Okay, my try to be a better person on the forum jaunt is over.

I don't know a lot about airsoft, but I know more than you, and that means that you calling me a fool just doesn't wash. You ARE an idiot if you think that this thread isn't about your goggles. The TOPIC OF THIS THREAD (that came from your very own two hands) that is displayed at the top of this page is : "What should I get next?".

My contribution was something along the lines of : you should get better goggles [and here is why]. How do you know if they work perfectly? Have you shot them with a Tanaka 98K on red gas? I say that particular weapon because that's pretty much the hottest firing airsoft gun anyone has that you might play with, aside from perhaps a Digicon Target modded to fire lethal velocities (the only recorded airsoft fatality).

You need to take your bipolar meds. You start the rather short post attacking me (someone who is trying to help you) and by the end you're thanking me.

Make up your mind, read some posts on this forum before you post again, and good day, sir.

DAMN IT MAN! I am not trying to instigate a fucking fight here. Get off your damned high horses, and stop thinking that I'm trying to call you all stupid. I never said that I know more about airsoft than you do. Infact I didn't even specify that I'm smarter than you! I'm not trying to affend anyone here. I'm just trying to gain knowledge. You wouldn't say something like this if I asked you in person. If you want me to say that I'm wrong, and that I'm stupid, then fine. I'm wrong. I'll buy new goggles immedietly just to quash your fears. You're smarter than I.

As I said before, I am most certainly not here to make enemys. I hope that I will have a chance to become friends with many of you guys and be able to  airsoft with everyone.

Now, how about we expunge this from our memorys.

If anyone needs some R Z87.1 + rated safety glasses, i can get some for a good price.  It's what i've been using on the field.  They are also the safety glasses issued by my automotive school, which most classes require the use of eye protection in ANY lab area.  They are completely clear and cover your eyes pretty good.

Well, calling me a fool is fighting words enough. I'm sorry if being concerned with the safety of an individual, no, stranger, is being on a high horse. Calling people a fool and intimating that they think you're an idiot is pretty offensive, man. If you're trying to gain knowledge, why do you rebuke the knowledge given with half-truthes?

You think I wouldn't say something like this to your face? If so, you obviously don't know me.

Ask anyone on this board.

well not arguing...um....if your low on cash you could always go with the SAAV, not the greatest, but that is what i started with, then moved on. and yea new goggles would be good, those sun, wind, dust gogles arn't the most comfortable or the best for airsoft in my experience. then about your gun go with the mags batteries sling etc like everyone else said.

um personaly i would get an M4 from another company such as TM or CA, CA is my fav. if that makes any diffrence, SRC seem to be of lower quality i'm not sure completly because i've yet to use one but that is what they seem like

Welcome to the party.  I hope you enjoy your short stay here.  It would behoove you to take into consideration the advice placed before you by the more experienced players like Vince.  He's been to more airsoft games than you have hairs on your head.  If you are truly here to gain knowledge, do it.  You don't gain knowledge by arguing, or by typing.  Browse, Search, READ.

Thus far, despite your spat with one of the most experienced players on the boards, you have shown yourself to be somewhat mature.  Please keep it that way.

Now, in reference to your questions about your AEG, all me to share the following advice.

Sell the SRC, buy a Classic Army, and enjoy the reliability and robust externals.

If that is not an option, prepare to spend alot of money on the gun you do have before it meets your expectations.

I've heard good things about MAG Magazines for the M16 variants.  I use a MAG-manufactured drum magazine on my SAW.  It works well, for the most part.

Good luck.

Ya i would sell the src my friend had one and unless u plan to spen an extra $200+ on upgrades to make it like a stock classic army id sell it. If u do plan to upgrade your src get a metal body with out one your accuracy is crap (somthing to do with the hop-up) then a tight bore it fixed every thing on my friends gun

The military issue goggles work rather well. I used them for almost a year, and took multiple hits to the lense and not one fucked my eye. But, technically they aren't ANSI rated. Now I have Bolle T-800s that I aquired....for free.

I have MAG brand magazines, they work really well. They aren't 120 rounds either...just 100.

SRC sucks. Get a CA, or Marui...or build your own.

Vince is gay. But not literally, I wouldn't hang out with him if he were.
(Now he is going to punch me in my NODs!)

(Hopefully) the last "chime in" on the goggles discussion....

on the M44 style goggles - there is an easy test to see if they are "good to go"

unbutton the top snap and look at the lens under the plastic rim of the goggles - there will be the text "Ballistic Rated" or "ANSI Z87" embossed on the lens itself.

If it doesn't say this - don't trust them.  I'm speaking from *almost* bitter experience, here.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. Unfortunately, getting a CA is not much of an option as of now. Since I only play maybe every 2 or 3 weeks it's not that big of a deal anyways. I hope sometime in the future though! (The SAR Offizier M41 FS has my name on it)
I'm pretty much gunna go for mags, then probably a used LBV, and finally a sling. I'll then see how it goes from there. Thanks again for all the info, and sorry again for that incident.

Sounds like a plan, just remember with the SRC,  you gotta make it tougher before you can start juicing the spring etc.

See ya out on the field,
Charlie

well you could go to the point were you can't move or hold anymore i think that is too many to be honest but what do i know!  but every two to three weeks with an SRC it might go out on you fairly fast i'm not sure they just don't seem to be very strong/reliable but i don't know for sure.

mustremember13, what type of airsofting do you do every 2-3 weeks?

Because if its just casual plinking, your gun may last a while, from my experience.

But if you like the hardcore all-day or campouts where its a constant strain on the integrity of your gun, then good luck, that'll go out faster than a Minnesota minute.
