the carry handle scope is allright. I have it on my m4 and if you get the hop up and the scope fine tuned correcly itll be shooting right on the money. It has its pros and cons. For one You can still use your iron sights even with it on, although the eye relief is a very small area (i think thats what it is called, how far away your eye can be from the front lens) Its pretty cool though you can pick em up at SAD for about 40 including tax. Here are some pics of mine on my m4

okay this is a little OT but what exactly does co-witness mean? Ive been looking for the definition since I saw it in similar article about sights.

Does it mean that both iron sights and optics line up to the same spot?

Co-whitness means that your optical sight is in line with your iron sights so that when looking through your irons you also see through your optic.

I think what you use is personal preference.  Me personally I usually have my G&P Aimpoint mounted on top of the carrying handle of my M4.  I'm too lazy to buy a canteliever mount and too lazy to try and find a spacer so that I can get the Aimpoint to be high enough on the lower rail.  Occasionally I will use Ironsights when I feel the slight extra challenge is needed to keep the adrenaline rushing.  I also feel that Ironsights are far easier to site in then optics however once optics are in place they really are nice.

So again, its personal preference on what you use and where you mount it.

It really depends. I usually only use optics on my guns. TA01nsn on M4 and a real H&K scope handle or an Eotech on my G36. Co-witness on my m249.

I only trust the sights put on the gun. I used to use a red dot, but it just didn't work well and my shots were never consistent, so I switched back to iron sights and my aiming greatly improved.

The only time I'd ever use a red dot is if I were playing a night game and even then...

well what kind of reddot are you using? it could be a really cheap one and you might be using it wrong...oddly it could also be you don't adjust your gun and sights together...

The one I own is a piece of crap, but I've used other people's scopes for a couple of games and the results haven't been that much better.

And I do adjust the scope and the gun, and it seems fine while doing it in my backyard, but when I'm actually playing it just screws up.

Iron Sights are the truest and best
I have a red dot scope on my MP5. it's better for acquisition of targets in close quarters. I would recommend getting optics only for Sniping, and CQB style weapons. They do sell cheap sights for Airsoft guns.

the hard part is knowing the dope you want for field and cq use with a dot

dots are usually more difficult to change due to the need for a tool, and covers on the knobs.

Use what you have trained with and what you have found to work the best.

I would say that MOA "minute of airsoft" is quite large to be worrying about supreme accuracy on the field. "kentucky windage" comes into play more often than you would think.

I can aquire targets faster, easier and in more positions with my EOTech than with irons. I am also more effective in low light situations with an illuminated reticle optic.

Never used the sights for the airsoft, I know where it will hit before it gets there but the wind has a lot more effect than the sights have had so far.

I shoot one or two shots followed by a short burst, since we can se the bb it is not that hard.

Iron sights! For our ranges and area we can operate in!
Scopes are good for distance recon only! So I can see you big deal the gun don't shoot but 200 feet.
Red dots need batteries and they break.

If I had to set down in stone how I do it "both eyes open, sights over lapping sight picture" right eye dominant, like pistol combat shooting, bring the sights and gun to the eye, and tons of practice,is what it amounts to.

You must know where 'it' will hit before you pull the trigger. I shoot with in an inch to two max, at 40-60 feet but I spend all day shooting cans and 2 inch fence posts at our propety, so people are not that hard to hit.
