Just call it an AKS-74S,and use the 7.62 mags.

Thats true.  I have to stop looking at just Soviet stuff.

I'm trying to find an AKS-74 7.62 variant.  Looks like an AK-103 is kinda that way.

The 7.62 mags look cooler, work better, are cheaper, and more importantly, I already have a lot of them.

I've only used it in one skirmish so far.....but.....it worked flawlessly and managed some decently long shots.  355 fps with .25g bbs right out the box.  Heavier than your average AEG also.  So far I'd recommend it with no reservations.

Beanns2,

Nice, where did you pick it up?  Personally I have been holding out for the -H, but not sure how much longer I can do so.  Any chance of a review once you skirm with it?

I got it through UNcompany. With the 8% discount from the holidays. As for the review ya I will come up with a lil quick and dirty review on the gun.

I can say already there hop-up is AWESOME. I did crono it yesterday and was at 320 +/- about 5 with .25g Killer Bees.

I was stupid and partially broke the bolt catch on it but it still works. The only problem I ran into at first is the battery packs I own have plastic caps on the end and they make it to thick to fit into the stock.

Besides the battery and my stupidity its a very solid gun. Pretty good sound, and only about 12.5 lbs fully loaded up.

As a side note I think that Star might make it so one can buy the lower receiver, barrel for the Scar-H seperately and than just convert over to that, but dont take my word for it.

@Raith:
If an AK is not worn and battle-scarred then its owner should be ashamed!

@usafcajun:
Great paint job. Awesome detailing with the AMSOG logo--it really stands out and overall your gun looks very impressive.

Everyone knows that the first thing you do when you get a new AK is to take it outside and roll around in the dirt with it.  [-X
