Thanks.  I'll give him a head's up.

If it will be his only AEG I suggest not unless you plan on giving it a MB. The problem with this gun is that the entire front end is metal while the entire back end is plastic. I got the JG version and noticed a 1cm gap between the receivers being caused by the weight of the front end. I had to take one of the rail covers that come with it and put it half/half on the RIS and Body which helps take the weight off the tabs. The RIS unit is kinda shoddy and sometimes grips won't fit since the rails are made iffy. My RIS grip fit one way but when I tried to move the cover it was jammed and the grip had to be hammered on. In addition I had to dismantle most of the gun and reassemble it due to shoddy construction, JG version that is.

FPS is what Native said. Also the RIS unit is a 2 piece with a tri on top and a single on bottom. They are held in place by the Delta which is spring loaded and pins it to the front sight. Bad thing is it will move even with everything tightened down and the barrel will wobble slightly(not enough to be a concern) due to the weight at the front. My above fix removes nearly all of this though.

So its a good gun but for an only AEG I suggest against it. Out of all my clones it concerns me the most.

Echo 1? Can I get another amen?  ;)

Is it really that heavy? I always hear it is.

EDIT: I'd like to add a question. What's the FPS, RoF, and over all way it shoots? Any good?

It's about 13.5lbs in weight.  Chrono'd at 355fps with .25g Killer Beez bbs stock.  Very accurate and nice long range.  I fired it mostly on semi though.

They look pretty good. I am looking for a good backup to my Type 56 and can also be used with a Russian impression. What is the quality of the wood like?

Also how is the Mag Catch on it? I have heard that it doesn't fit other mags well and you have to file it down.

I really don't have any frame of reference to compare.  These are the first wood AKs I've ever owned.  I have no problems with it.

The 74U fits everything I've put into it except a CA 74 hicap.  The longer 74 can fit the same, but I will probably file the catch down some as it occasionally hangs up.

The TM clone 7.62 mags that I have go in both guns great, but I'm not sure I can bring myself to use them in these. :P
