Like most gear related subjects your question will ikely yield a deluge of very expensive suggestions. What kind of boots depends on what uniform you are going to wear, how often you plan to need the boots (Only for airsift or othr things like service and hiking?) and what fits you comfortably. Almost anything made by altama, mattahorn or wellco will be a great boot. You should be prepared to spend $80-$120 on a good quality pair of boots. If it is just for airsift anything more than that is probably overkill but if you have the cash then whatever makes you happy.

I will say this, stay away from the "import" type knockoffs that look like military boots but cost $20-$30. They will screw up your feet and ankles in very short order and won't last long at all. I can't tell you how many soldiers I have seen learn this lesson.

While I agree with pretty much all of the other calls; I disagree with the "only for airsoft" call.

Airsoft is among one of the hardest uses I can think of for equipment. I am running, diving, sweating, throwing it into rocks, against buildings, getting it wet, getting it dirty, crawling over rocks, running through thorns, stepping on nails - much harder than pretty much everything except MAYBE like, real combat in a pretty harsh environment, much harder than say, police work (again, except maybe SWAT -- I don't think they're terribly tough on their gear though...not saying they're not tough, all respect to LE/MIL, but I don't think they do much outdoors stuff), hiking, walking, or any of that.

Belleville and Wellco are fantastic brands. I have extensively tested both, and they wfunction great for their price. Are you looking for desert boots(tan in color) or normal boots(the black ones). Go to Ranger Joes(www.rangerjoe.com) has some "ACU ICB" for $70, I don't know about their quality. They also have other boots, that don't look bad. Having to extensively use them, I personally wouldn't go with their boots, due to my lack of knowledge on quality.

I didn't intend to imply that airsoft isn't hard on a pair of boots. But as hard as it can be on them, few people would play more than once or twice a month under those conditions so wearing out any decent pair of boots is going to take a LONG time. IN the army I went through jungle boots at a rate of about 1 pair every 8-9 months but that was under pretty extreme conditions and daily wear. Figure that at 270 days of rough use, and if you only airsift 2 times per month... about 11 years worth of wear, if you take care of the leather.

Oh, okay, that's cool, I thought you meant like "only for airsoft" rather than "you only wear them when you play airsoft"

Boots are a personal choice. Myself, I chose a boot with a very stiff ankle support, because I tend to roll them if I don't have it. I personally use Magnum brand boots, and I have never had a problem.

You can get them at a sporting goods store, actually I'd try them out at a sporting goods store then buy them online from someplace like diamondbacktactical.com

From owning a pair of Magnums, I can easily say they are hard enough for airsoft use, and comfortable enough for daily wear (I wear mine every day).

I miss my Oakley boots, though.

well there is a diffrent ratio from shoe size to boot, such as like skater shoe to running shoes are diffretn.   NEVER! buy jungle boots, they are horrible they are only good for a couple of games, get something like Magnum or if you really want some good boots buy the Oakly ones!
