TM AUG upgrades.
« on: May 25, 2006, 12:53:56 PM »
ok so my big brother bought my AUG off of me and he wants to know what he needs to do to it to get it up around 390fps

he already has a metal hop up and a systema 6.04 tight bore.

i thought he should get super torque gears, 120 spring, maybe upgraded piston and piston head

and i heard somthing about a wiring harness. what does that do?

so any suggestions would be awesome

thanks in advance

You pretty much got it as far parts do. Except you don't need SUPER torque gears. Just good metal systema gears. Everything else you listed is gtg though, probably just what you need. Perhaps a systema motor too. But that's not required.

If you throw a 120 spring in a TM aug and leave everything else stock they shoot about 370-380 FPS....though you may only get about 2 years max out of the piston (speaking from experience, just replaced the piston in mine)

so just good systema gears and a 120 spring and i'll be okay for a while?

and what brand of spring will give me the most power without it putting too much pressure on the piston/ piston head?

What do you mean? All that you would need to put a 9.6V battery in would be a 9.6v battery.

okay popalooza thats not what i meant

obviously

i meant would a 9.6V battery be too powerful for the gun and would i need some more upgraded parts so that it could coope with the extra power

My bad I misunderstood. If the guide is correct then a 9.6V battery with a 120 spring should work just fine.

8.4 Volt 600-1000 mAh All stock TM, ICS, and CA products

9.6 Volt 600-3300 mAh All Stock TM, ICS, and CA products as well as Replicas that have been upgrade to around 400 fps

10.8 Volt 1100-3300 mAh Fully upgraded only Replicas that have all reinforced parts, gearboxes, and motors. Commonly used in sniper rifles. We do not recommend using a 10.8 volt battery in most AEG's.

12 Volt 1800-3300 mAh Commonly used in sniper rifles. We do not recommend using a 12 volt

In my opinion, a M120 isn't THAT strong, your stock tm gears should last awhile with that spring, but yes, eventually you would need to replace them.
