Which spring?
« on: May 26, 2006, 06:19:34 PM »
I was just in a skirmish with friends, and well I wasn't very satisfied with the range. My tighbore just came, its a prometheus MC51 and I'm puting it in tommorow, but I wanted to put in a better spring to boost my aeg to like 390.  So now I was wondering whats better to put in a stock gun a CA 170% or a M120? If anyone could help me out that'd be great.

An m120 because an m120 spring gives out anywhere from 380-430 FPS and a CA 170% spring gives out 370-400 FPS.

EDIT:A CA 170% spring would be better to get around 390 FPS. When I first read the post I thought it said what spring would give you more power.

I dont care about power I'm going for more range and accuracy but I dont want to put that much stress on my gearbox. In games I tend to go trigger happy, more like trigger crazy, I wasted a 600 round hicap in like 20 minutes...

Well I'm sure the spring won't effect the accuracy, all the spring does is push air out of the barrel. Faster the air is pushed by the spring the more FPS you have.

okay first off nobody accused you that you can't aim

and yes you are a full auto whore

and dude more power will give you more range

you can't have a lot of range and only have your BB's going 200fps

power= range

i have a 120 spring in my AK and it shoots about 365fps. i'm also putting a Prometheus Tightbore and a 9.6V Battery in it and it will shoot around 400fps

What battery are you running? If it's a stick battery it may not be enough to push a m120 spring.

You know, if your sneaky enough, or use a friend to put down covering fire, you can get closer to the enemy and shoot them... Then you dont have to spend any money.... execpt for the bbs to shoot them.... Im kinda aggressive though i guess....

Yeah but then that would be his only option as opposed to being able to shoot the enemy from close and far. And the springs are only like 20$, thats not anything compared to a lot of other items like gears and motors.

Its fine that was preety funny. Anyway I dont mind spending like 50 bucks on this... it5s not a big deal I was just wondering what would be the best spring for power and accuracy without replacing any parts in the future. I percenaly haven't looked inside my gun, but from the AEX review the parts are preety strong.
