Dang Jason! That M14 looks GREAT in desert MARPAT! What kind of scope is that? I like the illuminated crosshair.

Is that silencer functional, or is it just to look cool?

Thanks. The scope is a 3-12X50 Simmons tube with sunshade. I'll get Butler Creek flip up covers for it next week. The scope mount is a SA and the bipod is USGI. All I want to do now is have the gun itself refinished to make it look perfect, though the flash exaggerates the color difference between the gunmetal and the scope/bipod. Unfortunately, then (after refinishing), it will be *too* perfect and I won't ever want to shoot it! [;)]

I just love the MARPAT paintjob on that M14! Looks like a next-gen USMC M21!

Those are a close model of the rifles we spin in ROTC (minus the paint job, scope and bipod of course) Nice rifles.

The model you guys use is the M1 Garand. As far as I know, the M14 uses the same body but a few different internal parts. An actual M14 is capable of Full auto, while the Garand is semi auto. The M14 magazines are easy to reload as well compared to the Garand, where once the clip was in, it was in. Either way, I love both guns!
Here's my M14 stock (it's in desert marpat):

I need to get some scope rings for it before I can put it on, but otherwise, she's good to go. I also have a USGI M14 bipod on the way (the real one), that I'll get on it when it arrives. :)

FYI (John) my AR-15's:

The 20" upper is a 7.62x39 DPMS upper. All are on RRA lowers - one I still need to build.

I have some low height rings that I use to have on my M14 a long time ago if you're still looking for rings. Also, you're not going to like the M14 bipod. It's going to scratch up your paint job on the stock, and they had the wrong idea as to mounting it as well. Mounting it to the gas block just puts pressure on the barrel. Get a regular bipod like you use on your Airsoft Sniper guns. Much better performance and cheaper than the GI issue one. Trust me, I had one and got rid of it as quick as I bought it.

John, regarding the bipod, is he referring to that "scissor" style? You know what I mean? It mounts to the barrel (usually) and the weight of the gun keeps it closed.

Thanks John. I already picked up a pair of Simmons low mount scope rings on Saturday. My bipod also arrived on Saturday (as seen mounted in the pictures below - mounted backwards, I might add - lol).

I do have a Harris bipod that is mounted to the Ruger 10/22, but I have a couple mounts for my AR-15's for it. I'm not sure how easy it would be to try to mount it to the M14. I really only plan to use the bipod at the range - and then it comes off the rifle as I put it into the case.

Just buy an Uncle Mikes sling swivel mount. Drill a hole in the stock behind the front sling hook, mount your bipod to the sling swivel just like on your APS2 or M24 and then attach your sling to the sling hook on the bipod. The M2 bipod for the M14 E2 rifle was designed for a SAW purpose, spray and pray not accuracy shooting. If you want to get that dialed in I suggest the Harris bipod approch.

Nonsense! But come to think of it, 3 months ago, I had never owned a firearm, now, I have 3 AR's (I swear these things multiply like rabbits! I KNOW I didn't buy that many!), an AK, an M14s, a 10/22, a P226 and a G17C... wow.
